This is my first real road bike and I made a great choice. I can ride this bike all day. In fact I have, I did my first MS 150 on it this June and was quite comfortable. It is a great bike at a bargin price. If you are looking in to getting a bike, this would be a great choice.

shopped on line for prices on treck, cannondale, mongoose for sport road bike.some higher in price than the rapid 3 . few bikes caught my eye for great looks . but lets face it after getting on a rapid 3 the others were trully all show and no go. amazed at responsive quick ride compared to others when i actually got a chance to try all the bikes for a ride. shop around,go for a spin on others but when you get on the rapid 3 you,ll be amazed with ride and quailty of bike.

I had a very old bike that was heavy and junky and when I test rode this one I immediatley wanted it even after test riding many other bikes. It's very eay to ride and it's easy to get up to a good crusing speed. It's pretty comfortable to ride and I am considering doing a long distance ride soon on it. Great bike and looks awesome.

Im new to cycling and did my homework before making a purchase. Test rode similar bikes from trek and specialized but then I came across the giant. I actually went to a store specifically to see a trek but once this bike caught my eye, i had to at least test ride it. After the test ride, it was over, this was the bike for me. Fast, comfortable, light, and love the geometry. Riding abt 60 miles a week and couldn't be any happier with it.

I test drove several other bikes for far more money. Taking price out of my head, I just said this is the one. It was the Mercedes type quality I wanted to feel when I went down the road! The feeling is more speed with less effort and everything right where it needs to be. Perfect for me at 6' tall. I got the Large version. Went in to spend $3-4,000 came out under $1000 with rear rack, saddle bags, computer, pants, tools, and more! I absolutely love it!!!!! I will be riding 25 miles each way to work and back daily. Around 1000 miles a month.

        Comments:

I had intended to buy a 2009 Giant FCR 3 for fitness biking. It was sold out so I ordered the 2010 Rapid 3 instead. I'm very glad I missed out on the FCR 3 as the Rapid 3 has too many updates and upgrades to list. My normal rides are 10 to 20 miles on roads and paved trails with moderate hills. The flat bar road bike fits my balance of need for speed mixed with a more relaxed riding position and slightly larger tire for control and comfort. My previous bike was a Giant Yukon (no suspension) which hadn't seen a dirt trail in over a decade. Switching to the Rapid has been a huge change. I no longer feel that the bike slows me down; rather I am clearly the weak link now. This helps motivate me to ride further both because I expend less effort and because I am having way more fun using a bike designed for my style of riding. Pluses and Minuses: (+)Foot cages with clips are great for now, allowing me delay the upgrade to clipless pedals and biking shoes. (+)Very light aluminum frame feels very fast. Some say aluminum is too stiff giving you a bumpy ride. Maybe if I normally rode 30+ miles I'd agree, but then I'd probably get a true road bike. (+)The saddle is great. My rear end has yet to be sore. This makes me whish I had changed out the saddle on my old Giant years ago. (+)Aesthetically I love the design and black/white color scheme. The shaped tubing looks fast. (+)The rapid-fire shifters are great. I thought I wouldn't look at the gear display but I've found that to be very helpful especially on hills where a mis-shift can really eat up your momentum. (-)The front derailleur works fine, but occasionally seems to need help shifting from 1st to 2nd. I got it adjusted, which helped, but I still feel like it struggles to efficiently get the chain up. If I start upgrading components in the years to come, this is will be my first upgrade. (-)The brakes seem a little underpowered, but perhaps I'm expecting too much given the speed of the bike and my weight (198 lbs and declining). (-)The grips are the same as the FCR's and they felt great during the test rides. After my first real ride, my hands were fairly sore. I've since paid more attention to supporting my weight with my core, which helped, but I'm still planning on getting some gel gloves. I'd recommend them with the purchase of the bike especially because there are benefits to gloves beyond hand comfort. Overall this bike is great if you like fairly long rides, but you aren't going to race or attempt 30-100 mile rides on a regular basis. My only concern is that I am enjoying biking so much more than I ever have, that I might get more serious about long rides and need to step up to a real road bike some day. But for now, this one is perfect.
